Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Bridge Called Love

It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.

And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.

There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us
It's the bridge that we call love.

Have You a Pet in Heaven

HAVE YOU A DOG IN HEAVEN? Have you a dog in Heaven, Lord?
And do you pat its head?
Does he sit up and beg each night
before he goes to bed?

Does he look up with shining eyes
when he sees Your smilling face?
Does he wag his stubby little tail
when he wants to run a race?

Have You a dog in Heaven, Lord?
Is there room for just one more?
Cause my little dog died today;
he'll be waiting at Your door.

Please take him into Heaven, Lord.
And keep him there for me,
just feed him, pet him, love him, Lord,
that's all he'll ask of Thee.

BELOVED MEMORIES

A Tribute to Rosie

I will never forget the day I first saw Rosie. My wife and I went to the pet shop to buy a few chew toys for our 2  dogs. As usual my wife wanted to look at the puppies, and there she was with her 2 little paws on the glass and looking right into our eyes. This beautiful little Boston Terrier with her typical Boston Terrier face and her white body except for 2  circles of black on each side in front of her back legs, she was beautiful. A store employee observed my wife and I looking at the puppy and went into the back and then carried her out and handed her to my wife. The puppy licked her face and you can guess the rest of the story. My wife said "I want this dog", I reminded her I was having a bracelet made for her birthday and she said, "Forget the bracelet I want this puppy". Thirty minutes later we were on the way home with our new Boston Terrier named Rose, but we would call her Rosie. Rosie was the cutest little girl, but she loved to chew. Rosie chewed the wooden surbase on the floor, the bottom of chairs and she peeled the design off the kitchen linoleum floor. Rosie was a handful but we loved her. After a while Rosie and our Mini-Dachshund Dixie were sleeping with me on my bed, Rosie snored so loud I had to use ear plugs so I could rest. Rosie was always by my side we were inseparable, she was my best friend and I was her best friend. Last December my marriage failed and I had to leave the house. My wife said I could take Rosie with me, but I loved her to much to separate her from her sisters and take her away from the only home she knew. I didn't know where I was going to live so I had to do the hardest thing I would ever have to do in my life, say goodbye to my Rosie. That was 6 months ago, last Friday my wife emailed me and told me that Rosie suddenly died from a heart attack or a stroke, my Rosie was only 6 years old. I cry every night for my Rose and tell her that I will see her again when I cross that
"Rainbow Bridge". Your Daddy loves you Rose forever and a day.

A Tribute to Squeak
Squeak-The guinea pig.  Passed away Wednesday 6th September 2006, age 4 years.
Squeak...my wonderful guinea pig. After battling through three upper respiratory infections this past year you're finally in peace. You passed away in the night. I'd known you were sick, but I'd thought there would be another miracle like the last two times. You passed away in your igloo that you and Curly used to share. I know her spirit slept with you every night while you, my Squeak, were still alive.
How I'll miss your tiny tongue licking my hand in pure love, your silver agouti fur, your little whiskers tickling my nose.
I chose you and Curly, both crossbreds, against those two purebred Peruvians. I knew you were the ones. Now I know my gut feeling was right. Both you and Curly showed more personality than I ever thought guinea pigs could have. I don't know how I'll be able to survive the rest of my life without you.
You're with Curly now, my girl. I know she met you at the Bridge. After two years of separation you're finally together again.
I love you, Squeak.
Forever. Always.
Love, Nat (your human caregiver)

A Tribute To Cody

Our 15 year old Persian cat, Cody, peacefully passed away on Friday morning, March 16, 2007.

Cody was a fuzzy little boy, sweet and gentle with mild manners; he never hissed or hurt anyone.

Cody was a quiet kitty who loved to eat deli meats – his favorites were roast beef and turkey.  There was a time when all we had to do was yell “turkey” and Cody came trotting along.

Cody was the type of feline who “thought outside the box”.  He was “creative” with his litter box – preparing to use the tile floor, carpet or newspaper to “do his business”.

Cody will best be remembered for being a loving pet who enjoyed sleeping between us at night and occasionally, on our heads.

Cody will be forever in our hearts…

Animals wrap their tails around our hearts and I do believe that Cody has joined Madison in kitty heaven.

Rest in peace our little Code-Man.

We will always cherish the memories of our precious baby boy.

A Tribute To Hoya

When my boyfriend and I first moved into our apartment there was this woman who was living there for over 13 yrs. She would regularly feed the stray cats. One day she was telling me that she wanted to move to Texas, when the day finally came she had no choice but to leave the cats behind. I took it upon myself to feed the cats. I had gotten emotionally attached to one of the cats that I nicknamed "Hoya."

Every time I would come home Hoya would run out from her usual resting spots and greet me. One day due to financial reasons my boyfriend and I had to move out from our apartment and back in with family. I knew this situation would make it hard for me to come by to see the Hoya as regularly as I wanted to. One day I tried to take Hoya with me to move her to a better location near where my dad lives but she would not budge. So, as much as possible, I would come by to check up on her and feed her.

One day when I came by to see Hoya I had noticed that she had a collar on her neck. I felt grateful toward the person who was taking care of her especially the times when I wasn't able to see Hoya.  One day I came by and noticed Hoya was looking a bit skinny, so I thought that the person who was taking care of her had moved out. I did not know until I came back a few weeks later and ran into a woman who was wearing a veterinarian outfit had told me that Hoya had gotten sick and noticed an open flesh wound on her one day. The woman brought her inside giving her antibiotics but Hoya wasn't responding to them, she thought it was best to put her to sleep. The woman did tell us that Hoya was taken good care of.  I thanked the woman and told her god bless you.

I want to tell Hoya that I miss her and love her very much. And I am so sorry I was unable to come by more often but I am grateful to know that you always had someone you can rely on.  I love you so much baby, now it is your time to rest in peace- you deserve it baby!

Your friend,

-Rita
